Starbucks Announces Leadership Moves to Accelerate Global Growth Agenda

SEATTLE, May 16, 2012 - Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ:SBUX) today announced several leadership changes to accelerate its innovation and growth. The company announced the following leadership moves as it further strengthens its three-region operating model:

  • Lucy Lee Helm was named executive vice president, general counsel and secretary
  • Arthur Rubinfeld was named chief creative officer and president, Global Development and Evolution Fresh Retail
  • Annie Young-Scrivner was named executive vice president and president, Starbucks Canada
  • Colin Moore was named senior vice president, Enterprise Optimization
  • Craig Russell was named senior vice president, Global Coffee coinciding with the retirement of Dub Hay as senior vice president, Global Coffee Authority this November

Starbucks Appoints New Chief Digital and Information Officers

SEATTLE, March 09, 2012 - Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ: SBUX) today announced the promotion of two senior leaders as the company continues to innovate in the way it engages, recognizes and rewards customers and partners (employees) through meaningful digital experiences. Adam Brotman was appointed chief digital officer and Curt Garner was named chief information officer.

Starbucks General Counsel and Secretary Announces Retirement

SEATTLE, December 07, 2011 - Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ:SBUX) today announced that Paula Boggs will retire as general counsel and secretary on April 2, 2012.

In June Boggs will join President Obama’s reelection campaign. Based in Seattle and Santa Fe, she will be volunteering as an advocate for the campaign in communities across the country. In 2010 Boggs was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions whose work is focused on identifying, highlighting and enabling innovative community solutions to youth unemployment.

Starbucks Announces New Leadership Structure to Accelerate Global Growth

SEATTLE, July 11, 2011 - Building on its global momentum, Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ:SBUX) today announced a new corporate structure to accelerate its growth strategy, which will take effect by the end of September.

“Our company performance over the past two years has positioned Starbucks for the significant international opportunities ahead and the acceleration of our global growth strategy,” said Howard Schultz, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Starbucks Coffee Company. “Today we are successfully executing our multi-brand, multi-channel strategy and we believe the leadership and organizational moves announced today will optimize our speed and focus going forward.”

Starbucks Appoints Joshua Cooper Ramo to Board of Directors

SEATTLE, May 05, 2011 - Starbucks Corporation (Nasdaq: SBUX) announced today that Joshua Cooper Ramo, Managing Director at Kissinger Associates, a business and government strategic advisory firm, was elected to the Starbucks Board of Directors on May 3. Ramo will serve on the Nominating and Corporate Governance committee.

Paula Boggs Appointed to the White House Council for Community Solutions
Today, Paula Boggs, Starbucks Coffee Company executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, was named by President Obama to the newly formed White House Council for Community Solutions.

In addition to providing advice to the President on solving specific community needs, the Council has been tasked with three key functions: enlisting leaders in the non-profit, private, and philanthropic sectors to make progress on key policy goals; providing strategic input and recommendations to help the federal government promote greater innovation and cross-sector collaboration; and honoring and highlighting those making a significant impact in their own communities. The Council will be composed of leaders from non-profits, corporations and foundations who are committed to social innovation and civic engagement.
